Definition of Sales Channels

A Sales Channel is a place where products are brought to the market so that they can be purchased by consumers. 

Sales Channels may include:

  • Brick-and-Mortar Stores 
  • Webshops
  • Shipping Apps
  • Social Selling 
  • Marketplaces 
  • Direct sales (phone, email, fax)

All Sales Channels Overview

Marello processes orders coming in through Sales Channels. The Sales Channels grid can be viewed on this page.

  1. Navigate to Sales → Sales Channels → Sales Channels

  • Name: The name of the Sales Channel
  • Code: A unique code assigned to the Sales Channel
  • Type: Definition of how orders come in
  • Currency: Defines what currency is used
  • Active: Whether the store is active
  • Default: Whether default settings are used

Individual Sales Channel View

A view on individual Sales Channels. 

  1. Navigate to Sales → Sales Channels → Sales Channels and select one of the sales channels. You will now see an overview of the sales channel.

  • Name: The name of the Sales Channe
  • Code: A unique code assigned to the Sales Channel
  • Type: Definition of how orders come in 
  • Currency: Defines what currency is used
  • Default:  Whether the sales channels is used as a default
  • Active: Whether Sales Channel is in use 
  • Localization:  Defines the physical location of the Sales Channel
  • Locale: Defines the physical location of the Sales Channel used for communication to customers

Creating a Sales Channel

Create and use a new Sales Channel in Marello.

  1. Navigate to Sales → Sales Channels → Sales Channels
  2. Click ”Create Sales Channel” in the top right of the screen
  3. Fill in the following fields 
  • Name: The name of the Sales Channel
  • Code: A unique code assigned to the Sales Channel
  • Type: Definition of how orders come in 
  • Currency: Defines what currency is used
  • Default:  Whether the sales channels is used as a default
  • Active: Whether Sales Channel is in use 
  • Localization:  Defines the physical location of the Sales Channel
  • Locale: Defines the physical location of the Sales Channel used for communication to customers
  • Create Sales Channel Group: Whether the sales channel should be added to a new sales channel group.

4. Click ”Save and Close”

5. Navigate to Sales → Sales Channels → Sales Channels. The new Sales Channel will now be visible in the Sales Channels Overview grid.
