Managing inventory is a complex process, but the basics are essentially the same regardless of the organization's size or type. The ultimate goal is to have the inventory in line with the geographic location and demand of a product.

Inventory Balancing is a method that divides inventory over the Sales Channels in such a way that the inventory supply is optimized for the demand in the Sales Channels.

A purchase order (PO) is a commercial document and first official offer issued by a buyer to a seller, indicating types, quantities, and agreed prices for products or services. It is used to control the purchasing of products and services from external suppliers.

A supplier is a business or individual that supplies your business with products or services that you use in your business. In Marello, this means that suppliers supply you with the products you sell in your sales channels.

A location where product inventory is located is considered a Warehouse. Examples of Warehouses are; Warehouses, Brick & Mortar Stores.

Inventory can be assigned to Warehouses and Warehouse Groups. Setting up Warehouse groups allows you to link Warehouses to Sales Channels and make sure the right warehouses are assigned to fulfill orders.

Warehouse groups and Sales Channel groups can be linked together. This ensures that the right warehouses are assigned to fulfilling orders from specific Sales Channels.
